A Chiropodist is a primary health care provider, described as a Foot Specialist. Chiropodists are recognized and regulated health professionals who assess and provide treatment including the management of acute and chronic conditions. They also play a role in the prevention of injury and disability and in promoting health and well-being.
A Medical Assistant is a health care professional who assists the Chiropodist. They may show you to your clinic room, ask about your symptoms and health concerns and pass that information to your Chiropodist. You will also see them along your Chiropodist during surgeries, providing diabetic screenings and fitting your orthotics.
